This Privacy Policy is provided in English, which is the governing text for the App.

This app ("the App") is operated by Uogashi Meicha Co., Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"), a company established under the laws of Japan.

2. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use the App, which is designed for visitors to Japan who wish to become members of Uogashi Meicha and shop with us.

We do not collect precise GPS location, payment card numbers (checkout is completed on Shopify's own secure checkout, which we do not have access to), or government ID numbers.
4. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your membership across our online store (Shopify) and physical stores (Smaregi point-of-sale system)
- Generate and display your membership QR code
- Process and show your purchase history (online and in-store)
- Send you marketing emails and push notifications, where you have opted in
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests, including account deletion
- Maintain the security and proper functioning of the App
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Who we share your information with
To operate the App, your information is shared with:
- Shopify Inc. — as our e-commerce and customer platform provider
- Smaregi Inc. — as our point-of-sale/membership system provider for physical stores
- Google LLC (Firebase / Google Cloud Platform) — as our application backend and hosting provider
These providers process personal information on our behalf and are contractually/technically restricted to processing it only as necessary to provide their services to us. Your information may be processed on servers located outside Japan (including the United States) by these providers.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property, or those of our users.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your membership is active. If you delete your account (see Section 8), your name and email address are anonymized in our point-of-sale system and we submit a data erasure request to Shopify for your customer record, in accordance with each platform's data deletion capabilities.
7. Your rights
Depending on your country of residence, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. You can:
- Update your marketing/notification preferences at any time in the App's Account settings
- Delete your account and request erasure of your data directly from the App's Account settings
- Contact us at info@uogashi-meicha.co.jp for any other request
8. Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from within the App. When you do so:
- Your Smaregi member record is anonymized (name and email removed) and marked as withdrawn
- We submit a customer data erasure request to Shopify for your account
9. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International data transfers
Because our service providers (Shopify, Google/Firebase) operate globally, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including Japan and the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including access controls on our administrative systems and encrypted transmission of data.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by email.
13. Related policies
Purchases you make through the App are completed on our Shopify storefront (teashop.uogashi-meicha.co.jp), which has its own generic Terms of Service and Privacy Policy governing that checkout process. This Privacy Policy covers the App-specific data described above (membership, push notifications, purchase history display, etc.) in addition to those storefront policies.
