Sencha
The most commonly enjoyed variety of Japanese green tea is sencha. The freshly-picked tea leaves are steamed and then dried as they are rolled. After the leaves have been shaped, they are blended to achieve the best flavor for the consumer. In general, sencha is green tinged with yellow and has a well-balanced combination of aroma, umami and bitterness, providing you with a feeling of luxury that increases with the grade of green tea.

About Our Tea
Uogashi Meicha is committed to natural tea leaves that are exposed to direct sunlight rather than those grown under shade or in greenhouse.
In this method, the tea leaves can retain a strong aroma and moderate astringency, which produces addictive flavor.

Hojicha
This fragrant and refreshing Japanese green tea is made by roasting sencha or bancha over a high flame. The roasting process diminishes the tannin and caffeine content of the leaves to suppress astringency and bitterness and draw out fragrance. Hojicha is a warm brown color, and since it has a somewhat mild flavor, is popular with children and the elderly. Low in caffeine, hojicha is also the green tea of choice for infants in Japan.

About Our Tea
Aroma is the best part of Hojicha.
We are careful in roasting tea leaves in an old-fashioned production method and bringing out its sweet and roasted fragrance.

Kamairicha
About Our Tea
Kamairicha (Pan-fired green tea) is a classic tea but the aroma brings a fresh sensation.
Unlike ordinary Japanese green teas, Kamairicha doesn't undergo usual steaming process.
Instead, it is made by pan-firing and rolling the leaves.
In fact, this is the oldest method of manufacturing tea.
The aroma called Kamaka, which means "aroma of the pan", is unique, so you might be hooked on it.
Unopened: 12 months from manufacturing.

Japanese tea is easily influenced by oxygen, humidity, odors, heat and light.
When preserving, put it in an airtight container and keep it in a cool, dry space.
Once the package is opened, we recommend that the tea be consumed preferably within 3 weeks.
